In the heart of the Lake District


Eskdale Mill is only a few minutes level walk from the end of the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway. For a full day out start at Ravenglass and take the steam train on its wonderful journey from the coast to the mountains. The railway terminus at Dalegarth has plenty of parking and full facilities for those wishing to drive to Boot.

Eskdale is a walkers paradise, renowned for its outstanding beauty, were the streams from Englands highest mountains tumble quickly down to the sea at Ravenglass

Eskdale is in the West part of the Lake District, the map below shows Boot village, the mill is situated just above the word Boot. You can zoom the map in and out to get a good idea of the location.

Please note that the historic nature of the site may restrict access for less able visitors. There is no carpark, toilet or wheelchair access around the mill.
