Come and visit before we shut for winter!

We currently have a spooky atmosphere in the mill. Lots of spiders in big cobwebs have suddenly appeared! Oh my!

And why have we suddenly got bats roosting in our timbers! Arrgh!

From 4th November, in line with the changing of the seasons and darker days, the mill will be closing its doors to the public for 4 weeks. We’ll be opening again with a Christmas theme at weekends in December and over the holiday period from 11am – 3.30pm, apart from Christmas eve and Christmas day.

In January, we’ll again close to the public and re-open during the February half term holiday and weekends in March only before commencing the tourist season again in line with the full time operation of the La’al Ratty.

During this dormant time, the volunteer team will remain busy carrying out some vital grounds and machinery maintenance, Miller’s garden developments and exhibition cleaning. If you’re interested in helping us with this winter work programme, please get in touch with Kate Hughes on manager@eskdalemill.co.uk or 01946723335 who’d love to hear from you.
