Community event at Eskdale Mill on Saturday 3rd October

DUE TO EXPECTED ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS, WE HAVE POSTPONED THIS EVENT UNTIL SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER.

Now that bird nesting season is over and the blackberries have finished, the time has arrived to take control of the overgrown brambles in our meadow.

Using traditional methods and handtools, you are invited to join our volunteer team and help restore our  ancient meadow to ensure it doesn’t disappear under the thick of the briar.

There’s plenty of room for some brambles to remain but we don’t want to lose this valuable grassland haven which plays host to an array of creatures such as  bees, butterflies, dragonflies, grasshoppers and slow worms.

This is a perfect opportunity to get outdoors and spend quality time working as part of a safe distanced group in a beautiful location. All training and tools will be provided and no experience is necessary. You will need your own packed lunch but refreshments will be available.

Booking is essential as places are limited. Free of charge.

If you’re interested, please book online at EVENTBRITE

This event will still go ahead in wet weather, but let’s hope for autumnal sunshine.
