Eskdale Mill featured in latest ‘Countrystride’ podcast

We were very pleased to welcome the ‘Countrystride’ podcast team to the mill in March.

Mark Richards and Dave Felton visited the mill for the day to find out more about the mill workings, its history and its unique offer for visitors.

They approached our Mill Manager, Kate Hughes for the production of no. 147 of their their podcast series. She never misses a chance to share the unique multi-sensory experience and special character of this lovely watermill.

Kate welcomed them both in and guided them around the various spaces of the small mill complex. She explained the machinery, milling processes, water systems and history of the mill in Eskdale since 1500’s.

As big fans of Boot village, Eskdale, the Lake District and its amazing cultural heritage they all had quite a lot to talk about and subsequently share with their listeners.

This was all beautifully captured by Dave and enthusiastically presented by Mark. We think this will give you an insight into how special our watermill is and why it is so important. We hope you enjoy!
