National Mills Weekend, 9th-10th May 2020

This Bank holiday weekend was to be our main public event of the year. We had scheduled to welcome people to help us celebrate our mill and watermills all over these British Isles. The festive weekend was to include fun activities for all the family ranging from scheduled guided tours, grain milling demonstrations and historical talks to wildlife craft activities, storytellers and musical entertainers. We wanted to share our passion for our lovely corn mill set in this idyllic Lakeland location amidst a wooded Eskdale valley and alongside the fast flowing Whillan Beck.

Now instead, we plan to get the waterwheels and machinery turning anyway and showcase our attraction through images and film. For this weekend, we thought that we can still take you on a journey through time and help you to explore our unique gem. For young and old alike, there’s something to discover and find inspiration from at Eskdale Mill.

In the meantime, we hope that you find our photos enjoyable and you get a taste of a special day-out. Do visit our Facebook page here and view our Twitter feed here which we’ll be updating all weekend with film footage too.

We look forward to welcoming you to Eskdale Mill for National Mills Weekend in 2021. This will be in participation with Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) – Mills Section. See more information and their website here.

We hope that you are all staying safe and looking after each other.

And we hope you will visit us as soon as you can in the coming weeks/months. We’re keeping our visitor centre ready for you as well as making some new additions for you to enjoy. For more information on visiting us, do follow the link here.
